A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in a very warm atmosphere on March 16, 2022, by the Rector of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Professor Christina Koulouri and the Chairman of the Advisory Board of NewCo SA – a pioneer in industry 4.0 technology applications.
The objectives of this Memorandum of Understanding are the joint expansion of changes in the broader sector of Communication, Media and the Cultural and Creative industry, as well as the support of Panteion University students regarding the use of Blockchain/web 3.0 technologies through the operation of model News Rooms and other laboratory activities.
The ultimate goal is to promote cooperation between the two parties for the benefit of the educational and research process.
Indicatively, the scope of the cooperation between Panteion University and NewCo includes, among others:
- Informing students about the importance of the major changes brought about by the transition to Web0 and blockchain.
- The co-organization of all kinds of events, workshops, professional training programs and summer schools.
- The provision by NewCo of technology, know-how and technical support for the development of a model blockchain news room by the Communication, Media and Culture Laboratory (MediaLab) without any cost on the part of Panteion University.
- The cooperation between the two parties for the further development of standards, technology and best practice workflows for the production and distribution via Web0 of news and advertising content compatible with the new web 3.0 architecture.
- Supporting the workshops of the Department of Communication, Media and Culture for the development of blockchain applications in the broader field of culture.
- The elaboration of proposals for the application of the new data in the daily activity of the Communication, Media and Culture companies in order to mature their financing.
- Cooperation between the two Parties in the development of research projects.
