This webinar was organised by EHTEL (the European Health Telematics Association) in collaboration with the COMFORTage project. Among its key themes were the European Commission's efforts within the European Virtual Human Twins Initiative, which aims to advance the emergence and adoption of the next generation of virtual human twin solutions in health and care.

The initiative explores how digital twins of the human body can enable personalised prediction, prevention, and care. It sits at the intersection of IoT sensor data, AI modelling, and secure health data exchange — three pillars that align closely with our own work on Tap2SOS and the COTIC blockchain health infrastructure.

Virtual human twins require trustworthy, interoperable data pipelines. As health systems digitise at scale, the integrity and portability of patient data becomes a foundational concern — one that blockchain-based approaches are uniquely positioned to address.

This webinar reinforced our conviction that the future of healthcare is not just digital — it is verifiable, patient-centred, and built on standards that cross institutional and national boundaries.
